SURREAL
OIL PAINTING
& STILL LIFE
ZURICH

Intrigued by the unnoticed, the seemingly unimportant and sometimes almost invisible, I look at everyday objects, people and fragments of cultural memory.
I pull them apart, rearrange them and give them new meaning — turning familiar things into slightly unfamiliar situations.

My curious, acquisitive mind tends to project meaning onto things that might otherwise pass unnoticed. I’m interested in that space between recognition and uncertainty: when an object feels familiar, but you’re no longer quite sure what you’re looking at or what it is supposed to mean.

Through my paintings,
I present glitches in a perfidious reality,
by letting my inner child run loose and explore, and give what it finds a part in the play that manifests on canvas.
This way,
I become a  storyteller.

My mind fabulates, creating narratives on the canvas the onlooker can tune into, often drawing attention to overlooked, ambiguous or unidentifiable objects and fragments, and giving them a stage on which to act out their own strange, unfinished destinies.
